Stained glass windows began in the
11th century and beautifully illustrated
stories of the Bible that were not available to lay people who could
neither
read nor gain access to the few books available. In brillant colors
the windows
proclaimed God's glory and power. The windows reached out and grabbed
the viewer's attention.
We at St. Matthew's wish to express our appreciation
to Orletta Kunz, who
designed our windows, and to Janis Finlinson whose artistic work
is reflected
in the construction of these windows.
