St. Matthew's and Scouting

The Boys Scouts and Cub Scouts meet every Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. The Boy Scout program has six active members and two leaders.
One boy is working on his eagle project and another just earned his
eagle award. The troop is involved in local service projects, overnight
camps (such as Bear Lake and camp Tracy) and jamborees. The troop is
also looking at the Venture program for the Boy Scouts that are 14+
years of age. The Cub Scout program has incurred outstanding growth and
now has 31 scouts and eight leaders. The program offers trained leaders
for Tiger Cubs, Wolves, Bears and Weeblos. The Cub Scouts just held
their annual Pinewood Derby event and it was a great success. Upcoming
for 2007 will be the annual Blue & Gold Banquet, Rain Gutter Regatta
Race, Scout-O-Rama (in which our pack will host a booth), winter and
summer camps, monthly outings, carry banners in the Taylorsville Days
Parade, and several service projects. Contact Jim or Cindy Becker for
more information at 233-0291.
